I live in the US and I have an Old SA flag that I got on one of my trips there. It is alot better looking than the new satanic witchcraft kaffir flag.

I am a 52 year old male, I grew up blissfully unaware of what the government of the day was up to. It was only once I started working that I became aware of apartheid. The old flag for me has many memories, in Scouts we learned how the flag was made up of the flags of different countries, why the flag is laid out the way it is to prevent any one of the flags in the main flag from gaining precedence. I am unaware of any intentional symbolism of our new South African flag, it appears it was put together in order for us to have a flag at Madiba’s inauguration. Don’t get me wrong, I have nothing against the new flag but don’t you think I am entitled to my memories?
If I can’t have a Old South African Flag because it is offensive to some, then “they” must refrain from things that cause others pain such as derogatory songs and so forth. There has to be give on both sides.In order for this country to thrive there has to be 100% give from all sides.

The old South African flag represents what you feel in your heart… to me it represents my anchestors (Dutch)in 1652 & (French) in 1688 who battled the elements to start the root of what I remember as a beautiful country. Don’t be a hater. Some of us have good memories…
